Ken's Games

Ken first started inventing games to enhance classroom learning. His first classroom game “Aftermath” soon turned into the game “Common Knowledge” (see below). From 1978 – 1982 Ken went on a creativity binge where he created the games pictured below. The game Dominque was his first game and sold in stores such as Macy’s, J.C. Penney, Sears, Toys R Us, etc. (see photo of Ken at Macy’s in San Mateo, CA). In its first year, Dominque sold over 50,000 copies in Canada and the U.S.

Ken soon followed this up with the game “Dott-O” which was selected “Game of the Year” by Games Magazine in 1981. In 1982 Dott-O was then sold to Brio in Germany and they altered it and changed the name to “Shanghi Rummy” which quickly became the fastest selling game in Europe.

During this time, Ken invented a series of seven-word games which he later published into a book titled “AFTERWORDS”. One of those games (WORDO) has been copied to and altered to the now internet sensation “WORDLE”.
